Rabbi Eliezer Zaklikovsky grew up in Oak Park, Michigan, where his father serves as a Chabad Rabbi. He attended high school at the educational Institute Oholei Torah in Brooklyn, New York, meriting to learn from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory. In 1991, he attended Yeshivah Toras Emes – a rabbinical college situated in Jerusalem, Israel. Upon completion of his studies, he taught at the Yeshivah Gedolah of greater Miami, receiving his Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Pinchos Hirshprung, chief rabbi of Montreal, and Rabbi Yehudah Yeruslavski, a leading Rabbi in Israel. Rabbi Eliezer also served as a student intern providing educational programs and holiday events benefiting small Jewish communities. He visited cities throughout Eastern Europe, and the Far East, most notably, directing the world’s largest Passover Seder in Katmandu, Nepal.

Rabbi Eliezer is an accomplished educator specializing in Jewish educational programming.

Eliezer has published many books. An expert in Jewish history, his latest book “Out of the inferno” is a documentary of correspondence, maps and photographs of the dramatic diplomatic efforts to rescue the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe from war-torn Warsaw, Poland in 1939, and bringing him to the US.

Chanie Zaklikovsky (nee Altein) was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Canada where her parents direct the regional Chabad Center. Growing up in the warm and giving environment of a Chabad House profoundly affected her and helped form her dreams and goals. Chanie left home at a young age to Montreal where she attended elementary and high school, graduating as valedictorian of her class. She completed her college years in Beth Chana of Safed, Israel and graduated with a teacher’s degree majoring in Judaic Studies.

Chanie has vast experience in the areas of children’s programming and education. Through her high school years, she worked as a successful counselor and head counselor in camps in Winnipeg, Montreal and New York. Upon graduating, she began her work as an elementary teacher. She taught for 5 years in Beth Rivka, Montreal, and also worked as a teacher and an assistant director in Free Hebrew, a supplementary school providing Hebrew and Jewish studies to public school students. Chanie enjoys music, and directed the Montreal Women’s Choir for 5 years performing four times annually in Montreal and its neighboring communities.

Rabbi and Mrs. Zaklikovsky are the proud parents of a daughter Moussia, age 9, a son Mendel, age 8, a daughter Matti, age 5, a daughter Rivkah, age 3 and a daughter, Miriam, age 2.

Under the auspices of the Rabbinical College of America - New Jersey Headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch Movemant, Rabbi Eliezer & Chanie Zaklikovsky have been appointed to establish the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroe in the summer of 2002.
